Help me spend money

Well that drastically raises the 1770 price without trigger or stock.
A good friend has a built Winchester 52 C that he's cleaned the 50 target many times . Gun is ready to go . He's asking $1150.00 , should say he's firm on 1150.00 .
You can get a great set up for about $1000. Don't rush , I've already listed possible rifles that'll do what you need .
Winchester 52
Remington 40x
Rem 37
H&R 12
Springfields 1922 ( modified )
Many of the above that have been altered from stock are decreased in collector value and are a great deal for your needs
Walther
Anschutz

I am leaning toward the 40x due to availability of parts such as stocks and triggers, but i dont know enough about all these listed. I know a barrel last and if its a shooter I'll probably never have to change a barrel but what does it cost. A anschutz is over 700 to properly replace a barrel?

I think you're missing an important point. There are plenty of Anschutzs that shoot better than plenty of 40x rifles, and vice versa.

No two are alike within brands. Asking which is more accurate, Anschutz or Remington (or anything) is not a valid question because it assumes consistency which doesn't exist.

Defining accuracy is subjective. One thing that's not subjective is that most are average, with more and less accurate examples on each side of the bell curve.

If someone tells you how accurate their rifle is, ask them to sell it to you; those are the ones you want regardless of make.

You actually have an opportunity and your due diligence should include discussing actual accuracy with the seller.

A proven used custom will be tough to beat...Tom

I know a guy that has a 40x and a 1903 youth that he'd give a good deal on. The 1903-ish youth, not sure the exact model #, is older and is new.

I hate arms list . I am close would like to but this 22. but the seller wont respond

I own a 1955 40X with a 60's Hart barrel that shoots extremely well. Multiple State championships. I also own a Suhl that is almost its equal. I would buy either one of them again.
