help me pick a bat action for 6mm Dasher

looking to build a 6mm Dasher f open rifle using a bat action

problem is there are so many versions and so many options per version it is not clear what to pick. bolt and port options are obvious, every thing else though is not including 'shape' flat, round, octagonal, bolt 2 or 3 lug.

Also can a bat action that is built for 6mm dasher be used as a switch barrel for 283 shehane as a switch barrel?

I have a BAT B and am very happy. I have multiple barrels for it. (308/6slr/284) The port is large enough to run longer cartriges without issues and i know you can run BR and cases in them without issues.

I went with the B 1.350 round because I am a sling shooter and was a looking to keep weight as low as possible.

I will buy a BAT 3LUG next for the reduced bolt rotation.

Everything BAT makes is great and I would bet you would be happy with whatever you choose.

Also for fclass I would consider a left load port of your right handed.

As far as action shape I think they are mostly for looks. I could be wrong but they are all more then ridgid enough to not have issues with long heavy barrels. I have 30 and 32 inch barrels on my rifle.

Go with an MB and be sure to get the bigger ejection port for the 284 case. The 3L has a harder bolt lift and will get disturbed in the bags sometimes

The B is made to suite the dasher, and can be used with a 284 as well. I like octagons myself because flats help keep the action from torquing in the bedding. I'd also take a good look at the Panda F-class action.

well, talked to bat, and brunos, they had mb right port, right eject, 20 moa rail, round, br bolt face, sako extractor. so i bought it.

the 'multi-flat' was a april delivery and then i would have another long wait for the build. i'd like to be shooting by the end of next summer so i picked up what was available.
