Help: Identify and appraise remington 700 match rifle.

I received this rifle in a trade and I don't know much about it and have yet to shoot it. I believe it was used in Palma matches or some sort of prone rapid fire match but i'm unsure. I maybe selling it but i'm really unsure how much a rifle like this would be worth with these modifications. What do you all think it was used for and what it's worth? It's a 223 rem BTW.

Palma is slow fire and is usually shot with a 308. Your rifle is a XTC rifle. It is somewhat dated but may very well be a tack driver. With modern sights it would be a lot of fun and cheap to operate.

Value is negotiable, due to a few factors. Barrel life and round count would be important to know. But it would be a great gun for someone just beginning to transition from service rifle to match rifle without wanting to change calibers and reloading gear.

Any idea who built it?

looks like a varmit spl with a bloop tube to extend the sight radius , .223 is a bear to load with a stripper clip under the new XC rules.nice looking stock. if it is a standard varmit twist barrel it is limited to 60 grain bullets good up tp 300 yds in competition. nothing wrong with those sights .I have shot many cleans using them including 600yds. value? what ever an old varmit special would be worth plus something for the stock.
