To any new shooters, I'm still shooting a 3P style stock off a harris bipod and posting placing scores in open at our club level with some serious shooters. Being confident and comfortable with your gear is far more advantageous than a brand new rig in a style you aren't sure how to be comfortable on. A good fitting prone set-up should be so comfortable you could fall asleep on the rifle and not change the natural point of aim.
Use the gear you got, have fun and just put rounds down range. Most of us compete against ourselves anyway.
