Help, deburring flash holes

I posted this on benchrest.com, but will post it here also.
Out of 100 pieces of new Winchester .223 brass I have 19 pieces that the burr inside the flash hole is so "Tough" that I can't deburr it with my Sinclair tool. Can't hold the brass tight enough, it just turns in my fingers. Since I loathe the thought of trying to hold the brass with pliers, because I'll surely bitch it up, I'm looking for suggestions.

if you have a small vise and some scrap pine wood.....put the wood in the vise and the case between the wood..the wood will crush some but it should be enough to hold the case for you to do it....but remember to only hold the case around the base or your gonna squish the case

hope it helps

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up using a small wooden jawed wood workers clamp.

Art, that's a great idea! I have the tool, but never gave it a thought! I'll give that a shot on the next batch, it will probably be easier than the wood workers clamp.

I use a drill press with the correct size twist drill to clean out the flash holes and RCBS chamfer tools to chamfer the inside and primer pocket side of the flash hole.

When using a Sinclair primer pocket unifier I use a sizing die to hold the brass to keep it from turning. A small diameter punch can be used to knock the case out of the die.

Using the die prevents deforming the case. If you don't have a drill press try using a jewelers vise to hold the drill

If you could just put the cutter into the flash hole enough to get it started it will cut right through with no twisting problems.
You just need to feel it start to cut before you put any pressure on it.

Another tool that works well to hold brass with is the Wilson case trimmer holder die. My nephew is the one who gave me this idea, and it works perfectly! For being 12, the kid sure was thinking!

Cordially,
