Is deburring flash holes still a thing?

After our Easter celebrations today, I decided to prep brass for a hunting rifle project I'm doing. Being a firm believer in high quality brass and doing the prep work, even for hunting rifles, I purchased 100 pcs. of a well regarded mfg. whose brass I've used extensively for many years. You could see the flash hole shapes were all over the place. The brass shavings here are from deburring those 100 30-06 cases.

Once again....you missed the dime!!;)

I didn't set out to clean the flash holes on the latest run of reloading, but it was forced on me after taking 5.56 military brass & removing the crimp with a Dillon super swager. The crimp removing tool crushed the pierced flash hole when reforming the crimp out of the way. During this operation, part of the metal that was crushed, covered or partially covered the flash hole. This required the flash hole to be redrilled in each piece of brass that was affected. The newly opened flash hole was never larger than the original.

Another issue with CBC brass was that the primer pockets were all too shallow to accept a primer & I had to uniform them (all 4000 of them) removing 10 to 12 thousandths of material with a primer pocket uniformer & a mill. It took several weeks, but was worth it as an end result.
