Heavies bullet for 20' 243 with 1x10 twist

I'm thinking about picking up a DPMS Panther LR-243 but would like to know what is the heaviest bullet it can stabilize. I may later pick up a longer barrel bolt gun 243 but I want an AR style with more power than the 223.

OK, if I get the LR-243 what are good bullets for:

* Long range target,300+ yards)

* Short range target,less than 300 yards)

* Dear hunting

* Varmint hunting

* Self Defense
