Jeremiah Johnston also has a book that I want to read. I know we are to have faith, but it is so wonderful when truth is revealed. I also often think that we don't really know how much pain Christ suffered including that moment when He cried out "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me". In that moment, when he took the sin of the world on His back for us, he was separated from God. One monk said we should not think of that moment without tears in our eyes.

yes I know many of us cannot imagine the torment, and mental anguish he endured
and the instant he cried out asking why God had forsaken him.
I imagine in that moment, the Holy Spirit may have left him
which after the things he had done he may not have anticipated how that felt
and may have suddenly experienced the way humans feel when we think
Is God really there? Does God care anymore etc?
For Christ to feel isolated in that way, knowing who he was and still keeping his eyes on the prize
I can't imagine

I do love how when Science tries to prove God doesn't exist
they only end up proving more that he does exist.
