I don't know of a store that sells 6.5 creedmore so that would be my last choice .

Hmmm.... Academy Sports, Field and Stream for starters. Two other non-franchise stores have them and all (including the mentioned franchises) are within a 3 mile radius from where I type in Southwest Louisiana.

The Creedmoor would be an excellent choice for a factory load rifle.

The Creedmore was designed for one purpose, to shoot 140 grain pills at targets. In short, it's not a do all cover all cartridge. If your friend wants a cartridge that has reach and is also a good varmint rig I suggest you steer him towards the 6.5x284 cartridge. Action, barrel and stock style I'll leave up to you. The 6.5x284 is one cartridge that will shine at long distances and has a number of bullet selections that are well suited to varmint hunting.
