Hazmat shippers - price increase

Gunmint, remember how “they” forced social media to do certain things ( censor)? Although “they” probably didn’t have to twist their arms too much.
With this Haz mat increase and the previous UPS & FedEx policy change regarding an individual shipping firearms. Does anyone really think these changes were not the result of government “influence”?

I’m not sure that the influence stops at the church door anymore.

Price breaks for large volume dealers in product prices (except when manufacturers use price fixing rules) and shipping costs has been in place long before Kamala.
When profits allow, discounts, free shipping, sales, and even free hazmat have been common for years.
And yes prices tend to go up with time.
I shop sales, total costs, volume discounts when I can afford it.
Waiting for my birthday sale @ Midway to stock up on nickle parts :)

This drift toward politics sort of detracts from the Best Forum going ! thread.

I worked at a very large company that shipped a dozen semi loads of haz materials each day. These haz mat charges are BS. Each company depending on volume gets a HUGE price brake. I used the shipping dept all the time. I could ship a handgun over night for about $16.
Handgun shipping requires hazmat?

These we the standard rates for years. Then throughout the year, depending on your volume, they incrementally upped the fees. When I started shipping hazmat in May it was 22.99 then $33.00, and currently $51.00

I have called and spoken to my rep and the Small Business lead for my area and they just flat out told me no for a new negotiation for my hazmat rates.

I do hope the big guys keep getting the 23 dollar rate, but for smaller guys....it's doubt they will negotiate again.
Maybe some small vendors should band together and sue for price discrimination. Big dealer or small, what really is the difference regarding what they charge for hazmat fees?

Current Hazmat @
Powder Valley $22.99
Midway $22.99
Midsouth $22.99
They get discounted rates based on their volume. What Greg is talking about is small supplies that are charged standard Hazmat rates. You can be sure that those bigger companies will increase their hazmat fees in December as well.

Sort of a Thread Jack but Calguns is dead to me now. I think I want to ship 3 NIB Remington 20-rd ammo boxes to my son who lives out of state. I can't find any info on the UPS website on the ACTUAL FEES for a private party interstate shipment. Plain old everyday Remington green and yellow 6.5 ammo. Anyone ??

The charges are bad but the Regs. are horrible…. I can’t even get 50rds of Rimfire out to my gunsmith to test my new barrel work

I've found local to have the same prices as shippers and as long as that's the case ill buy local and the companies that ship can keep there stuff

Not always true but I can drive down and back to Bruno's when I want to stock up on sale items for about $24.00 rd trip. But I also have a friend that drives right by Bruno's every day who will bring things up to the shop for me occasionally. ;)
