I agree. You can check by putting the pin in the hole from the case head side. Shouldn’t be any contact with the flash hole. You can chuck the decapping pin in a hand drill and use 300 grit sandpaper to reduce the diameter.Your de-capping pin is to big.
Easy to verify by looking for an indentation on the other side of the flash hole…Possibly...de-cap rod end hitting inside flash hole due to brass thickness variation???...
When you say 2 out of 100, they came from factory this way? I'm thinking, if you had an oversized decapping pin, it would have affected other cases in that run as well. It may be even spicier now that it’s conformed to the chamber a bit.Its your decapping pin or their punch. I wish you coulda seen it before you fired them to know for sure.
Judging by that ejector mark thats a hot potato. Dont think that did your mushroom though. Its getting hotter outside so watch that load
