has anyone PROVEN that 300 wsm is better than 300 wm in br ?

My comment was about the brass availability issue.
Good luck with your Hornady brass, lol.
I wish more quality manufacturers made WSM brass.
I wish somebody else made it also. I let it be known to both Lapua and Peterson. Many Phone calls, emails and even text messages. I also talked to Lapua Reps and shooters at shoots about it. All must of fell on deaf ears. Competition would help supply and price. The price differences from 2008 till present really increased on Norma WSM brass, much more then other cartridges. Matt

Carlbad well let me tell you this, a few years ago I came across some 300 WSM RWS Loaded Amo so I resided to take it apart and try it. First was trying to pull bullets. Good luck with any puller made! Had to use vice grips on top of my press. But the brass worked alright when I shot it.But there was 7 gr. difference between that and Norma. The norma being the heavier. so I got hold of RWS with an Email asking if they had any RWS brass in 300WSM and there answer was we do it's Norma. So untill someone else comes out with some i'll keep using Norma nothing wrong with it if your not fireing hot loads.

I've asked Kevin Thomas a couple of times for Lapua WSM brass, after a couple of years you just give up asking.

You gotta figure out how many are using it- if every lr benchrester used it then thats not many, then we figure that competitors may buy 200, they last 19-20 firings, they shoot how many hg groups per match, and how many matches per year? You can see very fast that wsm brass is really about as in demand as hornet brass, maybe less

Kevin Thomas was never in a position to remotely make any brass appear or disappear, and he was in a sales position.
- I had an in depth conversation about getting the 300 Norma Brass which already was announced for production back when Kevin was with Capstone International / Lapua / Namo Group. - He told me that the matter was way above him and it would do zero good for him to say anything regarding it.

WSM is also used in F Class and lots of hunting guns. I guarantee there are more of them, then the 50 BMG they produced. The RWS 50 BMG is better brass and what most competitors use. I don't know where you get your numbers from, but for me and other competitors I know, buy 500 to 1000 cases.
When a shipment of 300 WSM Norma brass hits the market, it is gone almost immediately. Also most competitors don't shoot brass over ten times. It loses accuracy after a few firings and I know guys that fireform only. Matt

I disagree, it's a common round for hunting plus F-CLASS

Maybe 10 firings if Lapua had some.

Jeffrey brass is the basic brass for a lot of the long range hunting rifle cartridges

Based from.... not being formed from.... two different things.

When it comes to my customer's deer/elk/moose hunting rifles, the 300-WSM is by far the most popular.
Primarily over the last 15-years, but WSM has pretty much retired the WinMags and the like, up around my parts.
Have customer's taken them from Alaska to Africa, and all places in between.

No dog in this fight. IMO, from the outside looking in, if there was huge demand for 300 WSM brass, it would be filled by several companies in competition for your dollar.

Norma, Bertram, Nosler, Winchester, Hornady, Federal are 6 companies after those dollars... lol
(maybe others, just know there's at least those 6 offering 300-WSM brass)

Military sales seem to be what drives a lot of what gets made. If Lapua just wanted to make what was popular they would add 30-30 to their line up before anything else. It would be nice if Lapua added the wsm it to the line up, but we have been asking for years.

I should have kept quiet.

I should have kept quiet. I obviously researched this zero percent. The tone of the thread led me to believe that choices were limited. At least you found amusement in my post...
