Hart Barrels

Finally faced the fact that I've taken the factory barrel on my FN SPR as far as it would go. I decided to have a Hart barrel installed. There is no doubt in my mind about the quality of Hart barrels at all. Everyone of them I've ever come across that was properly screwed on was hands down a shooter. With that being said I sent it directly to them to have the barrel put on. Has anyone ever had any experience with their rebarreling service? Yes it's a little after the fact but let me know what you have to say good or bad.

I'd recommend them to anyone ,never had an issue . They've done quite afew for me over the years

I've had a "few" guns put together by HART and would recommend them without hesitation.

Had them put a 358 Norma together for me and could not be happier. I am in the process of another rebarrel and will go with a heart, but plan in using a regular smith to install. I just posted the question last week in which was better, barrel maker o smith and the conclusion was smith. I would be very interested in the performance of your rifle after using the heart smiths, accuracy wise. Mine dose shoot well, but it is buy no means a precision rifle. Moa, yes, 1/2 moa not yet to my knowledge, hard on the shoulder and not very enjoyable to shoot, but will drop black bears with authority! O yea, there costumer service is great, I ask them if they could do it a little faster and they did, it was a month early, just in time to get loads together and ready for the hunt. Long winded, but hope it helps.

my first Hart bbl and smithing was done by Robert Sr, in the late 60's then added Clyde and Jerry in the 70's and after that Wally in the 70's to 2000 and now Bobby.

everything from BR comp to hunting to pd,s not the 1st reason to choose another smith or bbl.

Where did you send the action to Bobby in Pa or did you send it to Hart in NY? The barrels are all made up in NY. I have 3 guns that were put together at Bobby Harts place and they all shoot. I have to add that i do run into alot of unhappy customers for one reason or another. I have come to the conclusion that alot of the unhappy guys are not what we would call precision re-loaders. They are old school hunting re-loaders that are expecting miracles cuz they have a hart barrel. I live 20-30 minutes away from Bobby Hart and also Jim Borden shops so i see a large quantity of Hart and Borden built guns. I wish i could borrow some of the guns these guys are unhappy with so i can work up a load and show them its not the gun. Both shops do quality work.

i agreee with 1holeadict

a friend had a 270 that "would not shoot under 3/4" at 100

i took it, put some loads together from scratch, and proceeded to shoot wellunder .5with limited oal testing etc.

Bobby in Nescopeck is where to send the gun.

This is from a 28 year old Hart barrel! They know what they're doing when making barrels! This is 5 shots from 600 yards I shot this afternoon and if rain and lightening hadn't run me off they'd be 5 more packed into this group which went 1 1/2" vertical x 1 3/4" horizontal! Fired with my old '06 NRA Match Rifle!
