Harbor Freight gun case — looking for feedback

HF cases are great! I've had Pelican latches break. Anything can break.
I have several HF rifle cases, never had an issue. I have 1 Pelican rifle case that is an absolute beast. It is very heavy.
A word of caution: if you go with Pelican (bench rifles are very expensive) make sure it actually comes with foam. I've looked at some of their cases lately and the foam is an add on accessory. It's not cheap either.
Just make sure...
Like it was mentioned above, nothing wrong with HF, Pelican, SKB, or most hard rifle cases. It usually comes down to what let's you sleep better after you buy it? Considering the cost of BR rifles, optics, and accessories, how do you want to protect them?

To be honest for local travel a good soft case is easier. I have the champion choice bag and trust it for vehicle and local transport.

Shipping is more than the case but worth it
Agree here.
I have a collection of Pelican 1750's from back in the day, when I traveled frequently via road or air, I used them. With less long distance travel now, I use the Champions Choice cases instead. Especially with transporting in an SUV. If I had a pickup truck then I would be using the Pelicans instead. IMO, it comes down to purpose.
I did not see the relevency of needing the hard case for car or SUV travel. The hard case can become cumbersome at times. Depending on your method of transport, consider a case such as the CC soft case. I can get 52" of rifle in the standard length without trouble. Its also slightly less $$ than the HF as well.

1-20 tin/lead....45-100. 105 grs swiss 1&1/2. a single .03 wad compressed damn little. lol.. Onlt 1/8th inch is the bullet seating depth..
Nothing like BPCR……need to get back into it myself….last I was shooting we (my dad and I) were packing 85 grains of 2F GOEX in 45-70 compressing a lot adding a grease cookie .030 wad then wax paper and seating about 1/8” into the case. We were trying some 10:1 alloy as at 16:1 was getting some leading of the barrel

If you are planning on getting the Harbor Freight Apache 9800 and can wait a few weeks it will be on sale for $99.00 starting April 7th for inside track members and the 11th for everyone.
Dude great information. Where do you get info on when items will be on sale?

For anyone interested, I was in Harbor Freight yesterday and bought some stuff(including the Apache 2800 pistol case). When I got home and emptied my bag there was a flyer in it for their customer appreciation sale starting next week.
During this sale it shows the Apache long rifle case will be $99.

Hope this helps. I will be picking up one as well.

Has anyone done online shopping with them?
Reasonable freight?

It's April 11th and the local Harbor Freight is down one case. Thanks for the heads-up. It's nicely built and far cheaper than the Pelican equivalent.
