Happy Vietnam Veterans Day 03-29

I would like to wish every Vietnam Veteran a happy Memorial Day. Thanks to each and everyone for their service. The Memorial Day for Vietnam Vets was enacted in 1973. God Bless and thank each and everyone of you all.

God bless all who have served in both war times and peace times. Unfortunately the Vietnam Vets were the most dishonored and demeaned service vets in our country's history. This is my personal opinion as a 76 year old who was never in the service and classified 4F.

I was lucky to have never been dishonored each time we arrived home from Vietnam. All we heard were several thousand relative and friends cheering above us as we crossed under the Golden Gate bridge. If there were protesters there they were drowned out by the cheering.

I whole heartedly concur with you recognizing our Vietnam Vets service. I lost a good friend at Khe Shah.

I am a Vietnam era vet but was never deployed, I served state side. However, I saw a lot of the carnage from the war at DeWitt Army Hospital at Fort Belvoir and at Walter Reed in DC. Those soldiers deserve all the care, respect and admiration this nation can give. God Bless all of them.

Thanks for the recognition. However it has been an interesting ride. In the late 60's early 70's NOBODY wanted to be recognized as an RVN Veteran. Fast froward to somewhere around Y2K and somehow it became fashionable to be an RVN Vet. Every wanta be claimed to have been in Vietnam. Even the DOD capitulated and had to distinguish the difference between a Vietnam Era Vet and a Vietnam Vet.
Not complaining, just one of those situations that is a little funny and sad all at the same time.

A HUGE welcome home and Thank You for your service. A special thanks to my brother 68-71 in country and Maj. Roger Ingvaldson POW 67-72 USAF. Dad's cousin.

I constantly think of a close friend who unfortunately was killed there at 20yr old, and regret the trauma many suffer. As a result of the botched Bay of Pigs, Kennedy was advised to enter Vietnam to reclaim confidence and sent thousands of "advisors" which obviously escalated. Honor the soldiers, hate the politicians.

here in the uk, i see veterans who served in iraq, afghanistan, even the faulklands war, living on the streets who through no fault of their own have come on hard times be it mental or families, while the goverment here in the uk, are paying over £4.000 a week to house assylum seekers in 4 star hotels, sometimes it breaks my heart to see them living their lives on the street, im sorry for my rant, but we should honour all soldiers who served their country, they are truly all heroes, god bless them dave.

I was never disrespected. 1st Infantry Div Vietnam 65-66

I salute all veterans for their service. As for the ROK, from first hand experience I offer this.....

Walk through a village after the ARVN swept it and it was the same except maybe the cigarette butts they smoked. Walk through the same village after the ROK swept it and there was nothing living or growing. They know as well as we do how to clear the enemy, but they weren't restricted by the same rules of engagement that plagued the US forces!
