PLEASE READ Happy New Year and Request for Member Upgrades

If you can't afford the $25.00 silver membership then i don't see how you
are able to afford to shoot. There was i think five responses up to this point from people who are non paying members. There seems to be a consensus from the paying members that if you want to use the classifieds then you need to pay to play. The way i see it is us as paying members are being taken advantage of.

Could someone (with the bosses ok) do a survey on this very subject?

Being kind of a "Newb" ; One year on , One year silver , and three or four years Gold , I've watched this from the beginning , and can't for the life of me , figure out how people can be so selfish and greedy . Take advantage of others , and then act as though that disgusting behavior is acceptable anywhere , ever . If I'm touching on "YOUR" nerves , so be it . We all know who I am talking to , and if you don't like it , I don't care . Time to MAN UP , or just go down the road . Nobody will miss you , Cheapskate ! Just my .02 worth .

And for the record ; I haven't ever taken a add , or sold a item here , even though I had that privledge . I have purchased a couple items from members though . Let's play it straight Guys Abuse a privilege long enough , it tends to go away !

This place is cheap at half the price. Get off your wallet and pony up. World class shooters/smiths/mfgs here that share what they know freely. No place else in the world you can get the type of education that you can get here. I can't understand NOT being a contributor. I learn something here every day.

Not hardly any feedback on this from non-contributors.....WTF What about their side???

When you look at the post count of new members and others that don't post much is one thing. No problem. But when you see others posting one, two, three times a day, or more.......

I am a silver member and don't plan on upgrading due to the above.

The Boss will come up with something...it's his house.

I didn't join this forum to be able to sell something, but I did, and I didn't join this forum to be able to buy something, but I think I did. I joined this forum because I knew I didn't know enough about what I wanted to accomplish and the answers were here. I upgraded to gold because I learned a lot more than silver was worth. I'm in with whatever the decision is, because I can't afford not to be.

My feelings exactly!
I have spent much more for way less in other areas, and finally decided to help in my small way to help keep the site up and running....

I want to wish all our readers a happy and productive 2023.

Let us hope that the worst of the pandemic is behind us, and inflation can lessen in the months ahead. And let's hope that legal challenges to unconstitutional laws (such as Oregon Ballot Measure 114) will be successful.

REQUEST for Membership UPGRADE
This Forum now has over 66,600+ registered members and is growing quickly.

However, only about 3.3% of members have upgraded to Silver or Gold Status.

We really need to push that number upwards.

The reason is pretty simple -- as the Forum grows the workload increases. Over the last three years, running background checks and dealing with security issues has gone from a few hours a month to 1-2 hours PER DAY.

All members will benefit if we can boost revenues to cover more advanced server and security protection services.

Consider this -- a Silver membership is $25 for 12 months. That works out to $0.48 cents per week. Or $2.08 per month -- less than the price of a cup of coffee.

If we could get even 10% of Forum members to upgrade, that would make a HUGE difference in our ability to test products, produce videos, and fight the scammers.

Silver and Gold members get Unlimited Classifieds Listings for 12 months.
Think about that folks...

If you were to sell ONE SINGLE $1500 firearm on Gunbroker, you would have to pay $66.50 in FEES.
That's right -- $66.50 in fees for a single sale. SEE: Gunbroker FEE Calculator

Buy a $50 Gold membership and you can sell 100 guns (or scopes etc.) and still pay less.

Final note: Please help us keep the Forum alive and thriving. We need to hire more personnel. The best way to do that is through member support.

If you are not a Gold or Silver member yet, click that yellow "Upgrade Membership" button. PayPal processes the upgrades, but you do NOT need a PayPal account -- you can pay with a credit card (no PayPal account required).

Thanks again folks -- AccurateShooter.com will celebrate 20 years online in 2024. With your help, we can sustain the Forum in the months ahead. There are so many very knowledgeable persons who frequent this Forum and help their fellow shooters. Let's make sure all of us will continue to have a great Forum in the years to come.

Forum Boss
In for $25. Had tried twice before over the years and transaction would not go through

I don’t want to judge what $25 may or may not mean to another man. I do think anyone selling should have to verify with a payment of $1 and then be required to donate a small % of the item price for anything they sell. I don’t think it has to be complicated - just do it on the honor system. If you get caught skirting the rules then you get the boot for good.

Another idea is to give Gold and Silver preference on viewing the classifieds. Maybe only allow standard members to view ads that are over [3 days] old.

I think there are some good suggestions on this topic. I also think some of them may even require a lot more work to implement than is currently required to run the site. I've been stretched to the limit in a job before and when the intent was to add double the work load, my boss at least asked if I could do it. It was something I had been involved with at a past employer and I knew the requirements, so my reply had to be "absolutely not". He let me hire someone for that one specific job. I don't want to see the boss end up in that same position.
