Stevens 44 1/2 actions used that method. Same with current CPA 44 1/2 clones.Talking rifles with a guide in NM and he told me they have all gone to a custom rifle built in Alabama? that the barrels are just hand tightened with a set screw. Anyone know the gunsmith? Just interested in this.
A hammer? Does it drive 16 penny nails or railroad spikes?Terminus Zeuss…. Lots of prefits for it. Slapped a 26” proof comp contour on my buddies and locked set screws at 10in lbs and gun is a hammer! Did all of this at the range. Lol
See the post by @Tucker65 .
He is on point. Barbour Creek uses Terminus actions for their builds. The Zeus offers a QC option using a set screw for the hand tight barrels. I believe the tenon specs are slightly different for screw-on options due to not being snugged up tight at the shoulder.
At 500 ft lbs, suggest getting a Gorilla & Two 900 lb M F'ersI hope 500 ft lbs is a typing error. Takes a big torque wrench to get to 500.
And, kinda makes you dependent on the gunsmith. At 500 ft lbs, suggest getting a Gorilla & Two 900 lb M F'ers
