Had anyone modified a HS precision vertical grip stock

I purchased a HS precision M24 vertical grip stock for my savage model 12 varmint actioned 308 repeater, with drop box magazine. I have had it for over a year, but shot it very little. The vertical grip area is much to large for my hand to get a comfortable grip, which does not allow me to place my finger squarely on the trigger. So my question is. If I sand down this area, will it weaken the structural integrity of the stock? If the grip was smaller I would like it. Thank you in advance.-Brent

I would talk to HS Precision directly and ask to speak to a technician as he should know whether it is feasible or not.

I just got off of the phone with HS precision. They were very helpful, and informed me of my options. I will be sanding it down soon. Thank you.-Brent
