I never hunted them but this last spring I picked several just walking down the 200 yard range berm. Took thrm home and sautéed them with some Venison stew. First morels I've ever tasted.

Hodgson did a promotion a while back that you could get 4 bottles like that, of different powders, so you could try them and figure which ones worked best for your cartridge. It came with Varget, H4350, H4831, and H1000. Or 4198, 322, Benchmark, and 4895.

Makes me think of the Eley sampler boxes from Killough. I'd buy both sets of 4 powders, not to use them but to have them because it's cool.

I saw them before pack of 4 Hodgens.

They were called Experimental Packs. 4 different powders and the selling point was you could work up loads without having to buy a full pound. I don’t think the concept lasted long. I bought two of them (thinking sometime in 2004). The little bottles are kinda cute.

Sneaky. Only 7 small bottles. They snuck Varget into both sets. I'd still buy them if they did it again. And this time they could add a third set of 4 using pistol powders instead of all rifle powders.

Went back to the store today. After digging around, I found a 4 oz. bottle of Pyrodex.
Added it to my collection.
