H4831 and H4831sc what do you use it in?

I use the h4831SC, I find it meters a little better for me. I burn in it: 30-06, 25-06, 6.5x55 AI and 280 AI, I always keep at least one unopened jug in reserve as it is a goto powder for me.

Not quite as fast as H-4350 but dang sure accurate with the 142 gr. Sierras in my 260AI.

What length and twist barrel are you using, for that 260AI?

In the 6.5CM with a 28" 1:8 twist barrel, I have used the 140gr Hornady ELD-M, 140gr Nosler RDF, and 142gr Sierra Match King. (Didn't have many of the 142gr Sierra.) Would love to try the 144gr Berger LR Hybrid Target bullets. I suspect they'll be fairly good with the H4831SC. I seem to get a bit greater accuracy with Alliant Reloder 17, with the 130gr to 142gr bullets, particularly the 140gr Nosler RDF. I'll have to toy with a few ladder tests and seating depths to see what I can squeeze out of the H4831SC.

Used 4350 in 260 Remingtons with good results. A few years ago tried 4831SC and got even better results. 140 plus grain bullets

4831SC is also what Robert Whitley recommended I use when I had a 6mm SLR (his wildcat) built to shoot 115 DTACs. He was sure right, a great shooting easily tuned combination

I use 103 gr of H4831 in 416 Rigby for both 400 gr soft and solids from Barns, shoot close to the same point of impact at 100 yds and nice 1/2" to 3/4" groups 3 shots...about 5 gr over max of the old Rigby loads and low pressures established with very temperature sensitive cordite powders of the day. If I remember correctly these run about 2556 fps ave....and they have plenty of recoil....but you can accurately shoot it in the sitting position to 500 yds, with s little practice. Shot hundreds of these in my younger days...no elephants, but good on lesser game including rabbits and squirrels.
