H4350

After news of the last 'shipment' that hit these shores (back in May) I was hopeful too!

Disappointment more long-term reaction after I never saw ANY being offered at the retailers I watch with regularity.

Forum member Mudcat says (on aother forum) there's plenty down his way in N.C. Seems to be favorite in 6.5 Creedmoor among the PRS crowd; they can afford to 'buy long' if they can afford to play that game!

I've looked for the past several months to no avail; I know IMR 4350 is a completely different animal but you can find similar applications for both of these powders. I've been using Reloader 17 as a substitute and have had great success. I'd just like to get a few pounds to complete a few ladder tests next to RL 17.

So that's where it all is !!!!

I thought Hornady and Hogdon had made a deal with the Devil, keeping all the H-4350 for their factory ammo and the hell with us reloaders

Just back order from Bruno's or Precision Shooters. You can order as much as you want. I picked up 140 pounds of Varget two years ago doing the same. Scott

It is on gunbroker in 8 lb keg
Pickup only
North of Kansas City,Mo

You will probably find that the 17 will be noticeably harder on throats. At least our experience with our long necked XC.
Maybe one more day at Powder Valley with their Tac powders being on sale. I checked a burn rate chart and the appropriate Tac flavor was only very slightly faster...... BUT....no hands on experience with it as far as velocity or temp sensitivity etc. FWIW & YMMV
;):cool::D

That's one of the tradeoffs. The higher the velocity, the quicker the barrel wear. RL17 offers a substantial increase in velocity. Speed comes with a price.

Just got a 8lb keg of H4350 put on hold for me when it arrives at the shop next week... yalls dealers must not have a in with the wholesaler or something..

I am down to my last pound of H4350 and can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have any info about when Hodgdon will get more to the market?
Ive spoken with some of the bigger online retailers, and they expect a few small shipments randomly for the next 6 weeks, but evidently Hodgdon is saying later this fall supply wont be short. Fingers crossed.

It's starting to show up in 1# bottles here in Western CO, but it ain't cheep. I still have about 9# but hope to get another 8 pounder later this year if they start showing up.
