H&R Model 12 Ejection Problem

I have a H&R Model 12 22 rifle that I recently purchased. I’m having ejection problems. The fired round extracts but does not eject. It just falls off the bolt face before it hits the ejector. If I extract an unfired round it ejects perfectly. It also ejects a snap cap. It’s only the fired rounds that don’t eject.
I have replaced the extractors, extractor springs, plungers and ejector plate but the problem persists.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking at the fired case when it is sitting on the bolt face to see where the extractor claw is gripping the rim? versus an unfired round? remove the bolt and see how they, both fired and unfired cases sit on the bolt. the claw needs to grip just on the inside of the rim preferably with the tip of the claw facing slightly down. also new extractors need to be fit so they will grip the rim correctly.
too much of a gap between the rim and the claw it will not hold on to the case as you move the bolt back to eject it and can just fall off.

Also, fired cases don't look bulged like they expanded too much form excessive headspace.

Thanks Lee, I will check the items you mentioned tomorrow and get back to you by PM. Possibly with some photos.

Lee, here are a couple of photos. Are not very clear.
I have improved the problem somewhat. I used a small file and dressed and sharpened the hook on the extractor. It now ejects about 95% if I work the bolt briskly.
I didn’t want to go any farther until my new extractors arrive. Thanks for all of your help.

Lee has one of these that he has used modified and shot a lot it seems
I have one that needs a barrel and want to mess with to see what it will do

You're welcome seems like you figured it out. a lot this stuff is rather simple once you really look closer on what is happening.

The M12 was something I wanted to tinker with because it has a PAS ignition not the same as a Turbo but much cheaper to play with. these rifles are great for experimenting. Benchmark 3G barrel.
Here is my final project. I won my first ARA UL match with it in some really bad wind, agg 1253 for the win!
