Guns etc you wish you NEVER bought

I thought it would also be interesting to see what people regret buying and why. If someone had problems with XXX brand, do not post how great your's is. This is not a debate. My list over the decades has gotten long.

Kel-Tek PMR 30 --- 38% malfunction rate with all ammo
Volquartsen 22 mag scorpion ---- $2,000.00 pistol and only functioned reliably with 50 gr. ammo, 8% malfunction rate with anything else. Went back once. Same problem. Expected much better for the cost.
Leupold varie x 3 scope --- elevation wouldn't track. Returned 4 times. Finally corrected the tracking but the reticle would rotate with every shot. After getting it back the 5th time sold it to a lawyer......... yes I told him all the problems. Leupold is the reason I adopted the general policy of only returning things once.
11 S&W handguns. Various problems but these were from the 70s and 80s. Bangor Punta products.
Rock Island 1911 22 magnum. Malfunctions after first magazine. Returned, still had same problems.
Springfield armory M1A. Malfunction problems, 3 returns, finally sent a new rifle. Just lost my interest in it.
Armalite 308. Malfunction consistently. Factory couldn't figure out the problem. A shooting friend pointed out that the holes that held the upper and lower together were not drilled round, they were elongated.
Savage A22 mag. worse trigger ever!

I had 2 NightForce "Competition" models. Both broke, resulting in 6+ inch groups at 300 yards. This was with 2 full blown F-Open rifles. These were NOT the 2013 models>>>they were 2015 models. I sent them back with the targets from the Competition scopes and my "back-up" NightForce 12-42BR model, which is and has been flawless. It did not matter to NightForce, they sent them back as "Nothing wrong with them"! I took them to a retailer who sold used scopes and he knew of the problems with the NightForce Competiton models. But as long as I had the paperwork stating nothing was wrong with the scopes, he bought them from me. Needless to say, I won't deal with NightForce anymore>>>>I now use Kahles scopes exclusively.. I am not looking for a "debate" here>>>>just giving you exactly what transpired..

I bought a Henry H001TV, Octagon 20 inch 22mag.
Spent mouths testing every type of 22mag ammo. Could not get anything to group better than a shotgun, with keyholing thrown in.
Did a trade at a LGS plus cash for a '58 Mountie.

Mossberg MVP in .223rem. What a stupid idea that was. Had to replace bloody near everything on it to get it to be an acceptable rifle and now I'm stuck with STANAG mag length which is essentially pointless with high BC .22cal bullets. I really wish I'd have gotten a m70 or sav10 or anything that didn't use AR mags. Live, learn, repeat.

only 1 I can think of. It was a Rem 700 varmint with the HS stock in 223. i should have taken it back to start with. Trigger was frozen when i got it and so i got a new trigger for it. Even then it shot all over the paper. i found later chamber was really crooked to bore.
I still have it but its in pieces.

Rem 597 22lr, was actually a Christmas present. Pawnshop eventually gave me $50 for and I felt bad afterwards for ripping them off. And the 3 savage centerfires I’ve had. None would shoot a MOA.

Taurus SAA clone 5.5 inch bbl stainless, near brand new when I bought it $440.00 at action. Never fired, owned it for several years. A friend talked to a fellow that was looking for exactly that gun. Sold it to him for what I paid for it. The first time he fired it, it broke. It had lifetime warranty on it so he sent it back to them, of course (and most likely luckily) they weren't making them anymore so they sent him enough compensation to allow him to buy a new other brand current production SAA clone.

Rugers. Had a mini30 that wouldnt hold 6inches at 50 yards. Sent it back. When it came back it came with a 4in test group. It went to the next gun show. Had a 77 with the tang safety that would fall off safe when carried.

I have had 2 similar experiences with Nightforce, I now shoot Sightrons and Vortex GEs......No problems, hold poi, are repeatable.

My daughters first gen Weatherby Vangard in 243 Win.
First 3 shots in 1.5" at 100 yards.
Next three, 6".
Next three, not on paper.
Yes, i did give time to cool.
Replaced base, rings, scope.
Had someone else shoot it, same thing.

Happy when she traded even up for a new bow!

Back when, I bought a Zastava Mini-Mauser in 7.62x39. It came from an acquaintance that had won it in a competition and would rather have some cash. It was unfired and had really pretty wood.
It was the ultimate cold bore gun. Placed the first shot right where it was wanted. The second, to the right, the third to the right of that etc. On a real hot day, the thing would start out 2 inches right and steadily head east until frustration put it back in the bag. It got bedded, tweaked, torqued, pampered, abused - indeed the whole gamut of fixes, until the ultimate - sold and replaced with a Winchester Mod 70 Featherweight in '08 that was my go-to hunting rifle for years. Now where's that thread on guns that I should never have sold? Threre's this Winchester in '08...

Browning X bolt Varmint Special Stainless in 223. Guy at the gun store said it was a special run for Shot Show. Shoots consistent 1 1/2” groups with countless combinations of bullets and powders.
I pull it out once a year to try again. Kind of an exercise in frustration. It looks kinda cool, tho!B7F9FA0F-2169-4376-A360-323334057421.jpeg

I think it's kind of ugly. We had problems with a couple of X bolts.

A Colt Agent, rattled after the 1st cylinder of 38 specs. I shot through it, Colt Government Model in 45 ACP, went off when it was on my leg with my finger out of the trigger guard, Gunsmith found undersized firing pin plate? slipped down, then slid back in place, nearly took off my kneecap, Italian Carcano, rattled and was so loose I never shot it.

DAMN!! Even Bad Luck Shleprock from the Flintstones has better luck than you !

Henry 17 hmr, just not accurate enough, maybe 2-3 moa.
Model 70 fwt in 270 from the 80's. Also a 2 moa gun.

Too many cheap scopes to count. Leupold mark ar, was like looking through a glass of milk.
Probably lots of other stuff but I don't dwell on it long.
