I know this may not fit in this forum but my wife and I have finally finished my gunroom in the shop! Painting sucks and I hate it so thank God she took the lead on that part. My son and his friend came over today and we got the benches from my little basement workshop out into the gunroom. I need to get my reloading equipment, gun tools and machinery moved in and put away in the next few weeks. It has been a long process and I can't wait to spend some time out there. I have a lot of projects to finish up!!! Thank you all for the help and support you have given me. The best forum members are here on Accurate Shooter.

No just the room on the left hand side of the picture. 16'x16' room which is quite a bit bigger than what I had in the basement. The big part is the shop. The bathroom and my wife's craft/canning room is on the right.

Just so you know what's coming. Your gun room is much like mine I redid about 7 years ago except my bench, much like yours, goes around 3 walls. At this point of time.....I NEED MORE ROOM. Plus I added a cleaning bench in the middle. It's not over friend. Keep your tools handy.

I hear you Jeff!!! I want to take my time and organize things in a way that will make me use something then put it back. Right now my room in the basement looks like a bomb went off in it so this will be a hard habit to get into!!

My lathe will go in the middle of the room. I have a monsterous home made mill that will go in one corner and the drill press in the other.

Its never big enough nor does it have enough storage space. All that aside, it looks great and i hope you have some ventilation because that has been a big issue ive run into in the past when the ammonia starts to build up from cleaning rifles and parts in general. Keep up with the photos as it comes together.

Looks awful empty. I would offer you a box of “clutter” to get started, as I seem to have doubles or multiples of things myself.
I have two five gallon buckets of used CC media that are close to 20 years old. Have had good intentions of mixing it with old candle wax and paraffin for fire starters.

All kidding aside you have a good start on things. Lathe, mill and drill press, a double door or at least a wide industrial size is handy just to make moving equipment through.

JSH thank you for the clutter offer but I think I have a box or 2 already!!! We put 36" doors to the hallway and out to the shop for that very reason. My lathe power circuit is wired into the ceiling so no cord on the floor. I thought I had an electrician hired to wire the shop but he never came around so I had to do it even though I told my wife I wasn't going to do it!

Nice shop! Climate controlled?

I hate flowing electrons myself, I've learned enough through the years by osmosis in my day job to be dangerous lol. Last week I puckered up as I watched sparky put CT's on hot 750 kVA bus bars. No thanks...

I did manage to figure out how to wire my lathe motor and drum switch through an inverter tho

Lathe has made it to its happy home!! Caster holes in the extended feet made it pretty easy really. I have started to level it up. Will make up my drop cord tomorrow. I wired in a locking receptacle in the ceiling right above the lathe electrical box.

Thank you all for the kind words. Has been almost 30 years in the making. Checked level again this morning and it still looks good.
