Gun Purchase Guilt Thread

A fantastic police uniform! Where?

I bought like crazy for years. Never heard a peep until the day she asked me how many I had. She didn’t like my answer and told me “No more guns!” That was actually OK by me because factory rifles no longer tempted me. I bought custom actions and barrels for a few years before she caught on but it was too late. Now, I realize I don’t have time to shoot them all and was thinking about selling some. The new ATF ruling makes me think I should just keep them to stay out of trouble.

I’m lucky in the wife dept, free rein on anything gun related. It only took me three times to find the right one. Wife #1 was a nightmare in all depts, wife #2 was rebound, wife #3 has been 21 years of bliss. Now that I shared more info than needed I’m off.

It’s some kind of computer generated thing. If you just squint at it it looks likeJesus’s face.

My wife (2nd) puts up with my firearm related purchases.
But she also believes that I have too many guns.

What I'm looking for now is a couple of metal gun cabinets.

She may not know which gun is which, but dang it she can count!!!

I have on several occasions taken an empty gun case to the range. Had to go to the gun shop to put something in it.

Just yesterday,
I'm putting 22 rat shot back in the safe that I was going to give someone that decided they didn't need it. Wife follows me and says "I never knew you had so many pistols". So I'm thinking about how many and counting the 2 that is currently on me and I say "14". Then she looks at the rifles and says "look at all these". She says "I don't want to hear anything about how many books I have" as she has lots of Bible study books and references. I then say "well you can't get much money out of books when you're done but guns you at least get most back. Stock market or real estate might be better".

There are 2 strategies to deal with a gun purchase guilt of your partner.
The first one is to get your partner interested in shooting. I know a few couples that attend matches together. However, it works out in approx. 10% of cases.

I implemented the second strategy: I just have 3 rifles using the same stock and the same model of March scope. The same mount. The same barrel contour. The only difference is caliber and barrel length (1-2 inches difference). It looks as if I was using one and the same gun all the time.
I tried your #1 strategy back in my trapshooting days. It didn't work. The expenses doubled, I had to load twice as many shells and the FUN was cut in half.

I currently have 13 large safes and a secure gun room....I need an intervention.....:D

If you "need" an intervention, it can be arranged. A number of your buds will be at the club tomorrow at 0930. While the plan is to do some shooting, a Big_Daddy Intervention sounds like a grand idea!

Shall I send out a group text? :)

Wife is also like, as long as the house is warm(ish), good food on the table, car runs well and has gas, decent clothes, I can buy whatever I want as I earned the money(with one or two restrictions!!)
