Gun powder

One more nail in the shooting sports coffin - there is a least one 55 and older living complex that I was interested in that forbids "explosives" to be kept by residents, "gun powder" named specifically on that list.

Even though I live a home, far bigger than I want / need since my beloved wife passed away it is one of the reasons, I am reluctant to move.

It just seems like the new world order is determined to kill off the shooting sports. Very sad.

I lost all mine when my boat sank.
Took my powder out of my home shop by boat in the 2008 flood that water was up to the top of our electric stove. 500 year flood...5.5 feet over the previous record. Took it into my shop at work and covered it up with a blue tarp. The government Nazi mining inspectors were inspecting my shop and asked my shop foreman if we had any explosives on site. He said no, we did not. The inspector was leaning on probably 200#s of powder covered by the blue tarp smoking a cigerette. True story....

YouTube channel (Guns and GAdgets).
Thank you for your reply
Not sure how much stock I put in YouTube but then I’m as a bit behind the times with this stuff. I do know of it and find some things very entertaining. Like Pakistani’s casting gears in a dirt hole melting every known type of metal in to it. Fascinating for sure.
I have not heard of Guns and Gadgets.

Exactly what would the Fire Marshall do with such information?

When I was younger, I worked in a major firearms retail store. We had two locations in the region. We were subject to regular powder inspections by the Fire Marshall's Office.

The smaller store had a regulation powder bin that had powder and a current inventory sheet hanging in it. We were told to NEVER take powder from the bin or touch the sheet. All the powder was hidden in the back room. We sold powder from the hide.

The large store had two similar bins that were never to be touched. That store had a "powder room" filled with powder. It had a lock on the door. We sold lots of powder and had MANY inspections. The Fire Marshalls always looked in the bins, made notes and left. Not one of them ever noticed or mentioned that the small inventory never changed. What a joke.

What in the world would the Fire Marshalls do with a list of thousands of reloading homeowners?

Summary

The Department of Justice is proposing to amend Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (“ATF”) regulations to require that any person who stores explosive materials notify on an annual basis the authority having jurisdiction for fire safety in the locality in which the explosive materials are being stored of the type of explosives, magazine capacity, and location of each site where such materials are stored. In addition, the proposed rule requires any person who stores explosive materials to notify the authority having jurisdiction for fire safety in the locality in which the explosive materials were stored whenever storage is discontinued. These changes are intended to increase public safety.
That was close. Luckily my reloading powders are PROPELLANTS. They don't explode.

Biden wants you to turn in a list of your powder stach to the fire marshal.
Biden has nothing to do with fire marshall's. Sounds like a state level thing. Who made this crap up. Give me your sources. Too much false info being spead in our country. To many people believe what other people want them to believe. A couple pounds of powder in my basement is not a threat to my country. How about dangerous flamable gasoline and solvents The fire marshall needs to know about them to. If it was true the politicians would create a bunch of highly paid people with benefits (who are their friends) to gather the info, tabulate it and write reports.

You're probably right. Biden has only gone after gas stoves and ceiling fans, at least as far as I know. :>)

The recommended storage limits and storage containment have been part of the NFPA for many years prior to the present administration. Efforts and plans to collect and tabulate the type and quantity an individual has is relatively new. Rest assured, any you have purchased by card is pretty easy for a government agency to track.

I was told by a shooter/service member who was stationed in Germany many years ago that while in Germany he had to have a German issued license that involved testing to posses/purchase loading supplies. I cannot first had vouch for the accuracy of this.
