4th amendment falls first with this "compromise". As the democrats chip away at the constitution the ability to stand for yourself is weakened, soon voting will not matter, that's the ultimate end game.

I don't know about you, but things immediately started to get better in Jan. of 2017 and continued until Jan. of 2021, and then everything began to go to h**l, and I mean EVERYTHING!

Well, just caught a couple minutes of gloating from the National Propaganda Radio(NPR). Said 10 Repubs had agreed to vote with the Dems to get meaningful legislation passed. The reporter ASSURED everyone that the bill would NOT affect a citizen's rights to purchase a gun. Then the question, "when will this be law?"
The response, "Well, the bill has not been written yet..."
This kind of honest journalism just kinda gives you the warm-fuzzies!

Instead of focusing on the criminal and punishing them, they keep trying to punish the tool and the honest and lawful citizen's that own them and will never use a gun against another human, unless that other human becomes a criminal against them with an attack on their person or family. Inanimate objects don't vote but we owners do. They are hoping that as before we'll forget and vote them back in. Cornyn has managed to stay in office because of his huge war chest and control of the state GOP. That may change.

When I was in High School, most of my teachers had lived thru World War 2. One history teacher had been a Flying Tiger and told us fascinating stories about his adventures. They taught a certain set of values to us kids.
Over the years, they have been replaced by a lot of “liberal thinking intellectuals “.
If you notice the ages of most of the protestors marching for gun control, you’re seeing the product of those teachers.

Wish I could be as hopeful, and Hope I'm wrong, but several times I've
read in various places that the new monkeypox pandemic will be announced
and a lockdown will be declared at election time, leaving that mail-in type

As to what has been published in the media so far, I am waiting to see the actual wording of the proposed legislation, since, I am certain, the devil will truly be in the details and amendments.
I seek far more detail on:
1) "Cracks down on criminals who illegally evade licensing requirements." and
2) "Cracks down on criminals who illegally straw purchase and traffic guns."
Do these sentences actually refer to US citizens selling their own property in forums such as hosted here? I don't know, but want to. For rest assured, Feral agents find it far easier to molest otherwise law-abiding citizens than risk dealing with actual criminals who might actually fight back.

But be that as it may, it seems to me the Republicans should be very careful. They have previously shown a great skill at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It may be that their Democrat colleagues have tricked them into it again. I am less sanguine than some about a Republican sweep in November, since, in my opinion, it would not take much for back-stabbed gun owners to sit on their hands in November.
