GRT

Anyone know of an easy to understand and follow tutorial on how to use the Gordon's Reloading Tool program?

This video is part of a series of reloading videos but he uses GRT to select powders that would be good choices for load development of the cartridge he's loading for.

I like the way he shows how GRT can be used to find candidate powders for a cartridge.

But I'm not happy about the way he assumes/suggests loads at 65K in GRT would be OK.

With GRT or Quick Load or any prediction software, the basic rule of "garbage in, garbage out" applies. Input as accurate of information as possible, especially case volume. I usually take an average of 10 fully formed cases for volume in grains of water. Your case length, bullet length, seating depth, too. You can also change parameters for magnum primers in GRT. If you have a measured velocity of a charge weight, you can calibrate you data even better for things like OBT. You can even change the chamber dimensions and bullet jump to match your barrel. I also will put starting pressure to negative when using moly/hbn or other coated bullets to match measured data.
