Groove - Bore Size Is Tight Better?

Is a tight bore better? I shoot Brux .276- .284 7MM with great results. Krieger - CRB barrels and other are all ..277-.284.. I know these barrels do just as good as Brux but it seems all of Brux are tight.. my 6MMs are as well. What is the advantage - disadvantage if any…. I did a search and found it take more powder to get the same speed from the larger diameter…. Any experts on this out there?
