Great Experience with Nightforce

So often, we only hear people complaining about scope companies and how they don't take you seriously or aren't willing to stand with their product. For a nice change, I wanted to post a good experience with Nightforce customer service.

About a month ago, I purchased an NXS 8-32 from a member of this forum. It was in great condition, albeit a little dirty, but it had a reticle I wasn't too fond of. So I called Nightforce to ask if they can do a swap. I actually spoke to somebody (a real person) who understood exactly what I was talking about from the first moment we talked. Such a nice change from other product support experiences.

They said that they can do reticle swaps and turret mods (which I now know is common knowledge among Nightforce users) for a relatively small fee. So I went forward with that.
They asked me to send the scope in and quoted 4-6 weeks from the time they received it.

After just 10 days I got what could easily be mistaken for a brand new NXS at my door. What I didn't know is that they completely disassembled, cleaned, assembled, then calibrated the entire scope again. This service even included a 70+ point quality/calibration check before they shipped it back. How much was this cleaning/complete-refurbishing? FREEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I know it's not a new concept to offer customers of high-end products a good customer service experience, but it's hard to find these days, so I wanted to let everybody know that some businesses do still care and put forth their best effort.

Always nice to hear about these kind of experiences. It really validates the decision to spend big $ on a product made by a company with this kind of reputation.

It is good to hear about your experience, it makes it easier to roll out all that dough knowing that they will take care of their customers!

Happy to help!! I was hesitant to spend the money at first, but it's totally worth it to know that they'll take care of any problems quickly.

Back in 2003 I had a 3.5-15 that had a section which adjusted 4.5" in a specific 3moa adjustment area. I sent it in the first time and it came back as NTF. I did two more box tests, one in each direction and sent it back in with the targets. About 12 days later a new scope showed up at my door. At least I think my it was a new scope. That piece sits on my daughter's Elisio 6BR, 13 years later.

I am very fond on the NXS line. My next scope will most likely be a 5-25 ATACR F1 for a Ninja rifle that currently wears a 3.5-15 F1. They are damn expensive, but so is a wasted trip to a match and then re-testing a new piece of kit.

That's some good info - they certainly got it straightened out really fast (by optics company standards).

I've heard good things about the Atacr line. I think the glass quality is a little better than the NXS, and the adjustment range is a good bit bigger. I've looked through both before, and the difference isn't all that huge in my humble opinion, though I'm no optics expert. I wish the Atacr came in a higher magnification!

Either way you go, both the Atacr and NXS have incredibly clear glass with good color rendition, great turret feel, heavy-duty construction, and a transferable lifetime warranty.

I've heard, many times, that Nightforce is the best bang for the buck. If you want a scope that's a little clearer, a little more "heavy duty", and has a little more adjustment range, you'll have to pay an extra $1500-2000 for the Schmidt and Bender PMII. Might as well just buy 2 NXS scopes instead...

Only reason I'may looking for an F1 ATACR is the 15x F1 I have is tough to get a good hold on the steel past 1000y. The thickness if the reticle doesn't help. Out to 1k it's fine. If it was anot 18x I'd probably be good to go.

If you're at known ranges, you could do with second focal plane and get the ideal reticle at all magnifications...
