Sounds kinda strange don't it! I am a Shop Superintendant at a Machine Shop located in an industrial area. We have been troubled by Groundhogs were employees have actually had their cars damaged by them chewing hoses, belts and wiring after they crawl into the engine compartment. I was able to speak with the Constable the other day when he was there looking for one of our guys that obviously forgot a court appointment( :
). He said kill 'em all! I chose my CZ 452 Varmint in .17M2 and would be shooting from my truck with the end of the barrel remaining inside and all but one window open to keep the noise down. I pulled in and the one out front that has been taunting me for some time was out in the retention pond. 35 yards neck shot and DRT. Pulled around back and one ran for cover but I knew he would return shortly. A couple of minutes and out it came, 45 yards sitting up. Pulled my center console/arm rest down for a steady rest and another headshot/DRT. Wasn't long and another at 64 yards with the same results! Pulled around the side and one ducked in on the "Grassy Knoll". I setup and out emerged it's head at 84 yards. The trigger broke and it fell back into it's hole with obvious head trauma! I left and like a "Desperado under the eaves" my shift was complete. Certainly the best day at work for me!
