90 degree groundhogs.

The one with the rifle was shot at 200 yards stretching the 17 out 0.7 drop at 200 yards. I put the 20 grain right where I was aiming.
Blind shown here elevates you where you can see.Blind to dead tree 212 yards. Saw 8 dropped 3 drt Where atv is in tall grass to break in treeline 225 yards, the treeline is along the Mohican river great country for sure.

How does the report on your 17 compare to a 223?

You had a good day congratulations!

Neighbors mowed their hay field a course of days ago. Hope to get over there before it gets to tall to see them.

what's the range on some of the rim fire magnums?
I've thought of that too, I have a 22 LR and a 22 Magnum but the LR in near zero wind needs head shots for sure kills, doable in no wind to 50 to 70 yards. The magnum can go to 100 or 125 but again zero wind. Well not zero but very low wind on both, not likely on this farm.

There's no room for a blind in close enough for the rim fires. The ranges are 50 to 175 but the wind whips around the area and there's only one place safe to shoot from. The wind there rarely is more than a 223 can handle at these ranges.
