I'm not understanding what squeezing the trigger on an empty chamber, while closing the bolt after greasing would accomplish.
On an empty chamber, the trigger shouldn't affect the bolt lugs to my way of thinking.
Does anyone hold their trigger back as they are closing they're bolt to try to grease the abutments without it wiping off
I didn't use to, until I watched Greg's video. There is a noticeable difference in the grease on the lugs if you do hold the trigger back.Does anyone hold their trigger back as they are closing they're bolt to try to grease the abutments without it wiping off?

What about as youre loading the chamber getting ready to shoot? The grease is there to keep the lugs from galling after the shot when the pressure hits it, not for storage purposes
Sure you can leave it there but we dont put grease on lugs for storage. Its on there for firing so whats the point in figuring out how to put it on there for storage? Im not worried about my lugs rusting and itll collect dust. All i want grease for is to keep the lugs from galling after firing so theres no need in trying to figure out how to put it on there without loading it right? What are you referring to? I'm not understanding.
Are you saying don't leave grease on the lugs for storage?

But as soon as you close the bolt on a loaded round its back to normal. Thats what im trying to say- dont worry about how to grease the lugs unloaded, loaded is the only thing that mattersOh okay, I didn't mean that it was for storage, just that it might be a better way of greasing the abutments.
