It has always been the mission of politicians to buy VOTES. The Dems figured it out. There are now more people with their hand out to the Government, than contributing members of society. Votes paid for and counted.
Seems to me that our country was doing OK when, 'Brother Bill' left office. We had, (heaven forbid) a surplus of money. Then along comes Georgie and gives us all a $600 check for doing nothing! Talk about buying votes!!
The Times itself reported in 1999 that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were under pressure from the Clinton administration to increase lending to minorities and low-income home buyers--a policy that necessarily entailed higher risks. Can there really be a question, other than in the fevered imagination of the Times, where the push to reduce lending standards and boost home ownership came from?
A housing crisis didn't start under the Bush administration, Not that Bush was any better then the big spending liberals..

Perhaps you have forgotten how the whole thing started Ray. Yes, Clinton played a major role in it, along with the help of the Republican party, led by Sen. Phil Gramm. Gramm joined forces with Clinton to repeal Glass-Steagall. Something too many are not aware of, or simply refuse to acknowledge.
Were republicans involved on August 11, 1999, Clinton commuted the sentences of 16 members of FALN, which is a Puerto Rican paramilitary organization that set off 120 bombs in the United States? Mostly in New York City and Chicago? Just one example of Pardongate
Congress condemned this action by President Clinton, with votes of 95-2 in the Senate and 311-41 in the House. The U.S. House Committee on Government Reform held an investigation on the matter, but the Justice Department prevented FBI officials from testifying. Wait for it, Eric Holder would make a perfect attorney general for Obama's liberal agendas like fast and furious..
I suppose undermining our intelligence agencies and down sizing our military couldn't have helped with the attack on September 11th?
I'm sure if a republican gets stuck cleaning up Obama"s mess, You will be sure to state how republicans are failing again..
