We don't qualify for unemployment since we have a job. So it's a choice of living off savings, getting a loan with interest unless you direct deposit your check to Navy Federal, or get another job. Still have to show up for the 9 hours at the base though. I've applied for three jobs. Still looking for more that have hours outside the normal 9-5 since I can't be in two places at the same time

So feel free not to complain. I have been through enough shutdowns in the last 23 years. Act like a soldier do your job and dont bitch. Your Cmd has resources and you have savings if your a responible adult.

First off I'm not bitching. Second I'm not a soldier. Third the command has zero resources for this. I have plenty of savings. I'm good for about 6 month's, which I'm betting I'll use most of by the time this is over. I'm not worried about me. But the kids that work for me are really gonna struggle after a couple months.

Ive noticed on every one of my loans when i pull them up to pay theres a big banner at the top saying if youre affected they have a deferment program. If youre one thats affected you should ask about this on any of your payments. I also know my employer (an electricity providing utility) has a program to pay your bill- not defer it- if youre affected
