I am sure most of you old guys have suffered with gout. Doc's have had me on Prednisone and Colchicine it gives me relief but a soon as I quit taking it the gout flares back up. Been suffering for 3 months, first in a finger and now it has migrated to both feet. Ice seems to help but is not a cure. Anybody got a home remedy that helped? I take supplements that are supposed to help, Vit C, Turmeric, cider vinegar, magnesium. I've even quit drinking!!!

This is it! My episodes increased to every six weeks, and since getting on allopurinol have had no issues for years. And I eat and drink whatever I want, probably too much! I believe the inventor won a Nobel prize based on its novel concept.

I was in my 20s the first time I had an issue with it. You can often figure out what triggers it. For me, it was largely pork. I cut out sausage, lunch meat, and bacon and quit having gout attacks. Frequency of consumption also matters. If you slip up and eat something you're not supposed, eat really clean for several days.

My Dad and older Brother were and are Gout Kings.
For them it's all the stuff they ate and eat as you stated.
I have none of there Gout problems, as I eat different Foods.

If you drink diet soda, stop and drink more water..
You might have your thyroid checked . if it is under performing it inhibits the kidneys ability to get rid of uric acid as in my case along with a plethora of beer and steak .

My dad had it when he was younger, but he hasn't had an issue with it in years. It does seem to be somewhat hereditary.

celery seed, and Oregan tart cherries in a can or the $$$$ organic tart cherry juice, if that dont get it calmed down atleast you be shitting like a blue goose, and i take allopurinol every day and it still jumps on me, i feel for ya, i just got over a flare up my self. and lots of water to flush it out your system. Mine flares up if i eat pork after 7pm, its like a damn gremlin "dont feed after midnight"

I'm starting to suspect diet soda is the cause of all kinds of inflammatory symptoms. As well as urinary issues.
Diet Gatorade might even be worse.
The Tart Cherry juice is what the oldest son uses to keep his Gout in check also.
