I went and had them drill their Q-Tip up into my brain............Still have taste & smell, I had better cook off those marinating NY strips before that goes away. I will be sitting tight for the next few weeks ( quarantining )........Wish I had a back yard range,,,,,

Hopefully the getting the vaccine will lessen the effects like it did with my parents. They are in their late 80's and only had a little fever, malaise, and no taste/smell for a week or so. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that Rick! Unfortunately I’ve heard of just as many vaccinated people coming down sick lately as unvaccinated people.

Vaccine is a deceptive name when used in conjunction with covid. I thought a vaccine was what they made for polio, measles, and mumps - you know, you get vaccinated and you don't get them.

The covid chemical cocktail still allows you to get and be contagious with covid. Our only hope is that it lessens the severity when you contract covid.

My Wife and I got the jab back in March , so far no side effects... I did get what ever was going around in November 2019 again 2 weeks after the shot and it was worse this time but since then no problems.... I think the vaccine will help keep you from getting bad sick.... They say 99% of people who are in the hospital are unvaccinated but yes you can still catch it.... This stuff will never go away just like the flu or cold.... The genie is out of the bottle...

That’s not correct. The COVID vaccines are highly protective against infection as well. It is true that there are still breakthrough infections, but they are far less likely to happen, and when they do, people don’t get nearly as sick.

I think this myth is out there because the original trials evaluating the vaccines here didn’t look specifically at transmission, and so for a while it wasn’t known for sure whether they could allow asymptomatic transmission. But since then, it’s become clear that is also greatly reduced by vaccination.

edit: here is a great graph from the latest data set from the CDC that came out yesterday. You can indeed see a very small uptick in infection among the vaccinated as Delta has become prevalent, but still far fewer than the unvaccinated, and in the other two panels you see that for hospitalization and death there is no decrease in vaccine efficacy.

I hope you get to feel better. I came down with a bad case Monday,this is the sickest I have ever been.It is so bad I have an infusion for tomorrow.As for me personally i will take a shot every week if it stops the way I feel.
