Goofy Gun Slang and Expressions

They used to answer the phone Lee-a-pold years ago when I would call . They don't anymore
Don't ever recall that. They know how to pronounce their name. I have been calling them for years and just did now. They answer with a greeting and "Leupold (LOOPOLD) & Stevens", just like they always have. There are NO "LEOPOLD" Scopes.

Leupold & Stevens: 1 (800) 538-7653

I don't know if it's been mentioned and this is for the revolver fans of which I am one, but I have always been partial to "going to strap on my hog leg".

As a person who uses the term “build” and never knew it’s a lame practice - what’s a better word to use? Project? Really I’m all about upgrading my firearm vocabulary. What’s the preferred word?

I can’t believe this has not been mentioned.
Owners referring to their gun/s as toys; as in I got a new range toy.
Referring to guns, rifles and firearms as toys provides fuel to the anti folks.
Toys are for play, guns are not.

Thank you. I have not had toys of any kind for a REALLY long time. I just turned 60.
