Good Sources for .22 LR benchrest rifles?

He builds all of Joe Besche's rifles, and Besche won the ARA Indoor Championship a few months ago
I didn't go to ARA Indoor Nationals this year. So secondhand info. But didn't Joe shoot a used Anschutz custom that he bought for a bargain price off of one of these forums? I've shot with Joe a couple times recently here in TX and I wish I would've thought to ask him about it

The rifle Joe used was bought at a gun show, unknown custom barrel. Why some of the equipment lists can't be trusted. You fill out the form months ahead of the match, things change.

I had an interesting conversation with Joe this year regarding barrel weights, tuners and mid barrel tuners. He has some specific and well thought out theories and his results speak for themselves.

Howard Pitts has built several SB Rifles for several F Class Shooters at the Riverbend Gun Club, Dawsonville, GA. Those rifles shoot great, because I saw the targets. One or maybe even two scores were submitted for National Records.

Kenyon Anschutz 1913

I'm surprised at the lack of interest.

Where in PA are you? Come to Harrisburg and shoot it.

I have a bore scope if you want to have a look...Tom
Your choice but, FWIW a 1913 will not run with the average custom, 20” threaded bbl is not a plus, and your ask is not even close.
Would never post this on a classified but since you came here……them’s the facts.

Thank you and a couple questions please. Can I assume the Kenyon Schneider barrel is up to speed? What aspect of the receiver is lacking? Is Kenyon not considered a custom builder?

Please I am looking for advice you won't hurt my feelings.

Fair questions.
First off Kenyon was quite an astute RF guy but, many years ago with virtually no BR track record, plus, these days in the modern “ tuner era” the vast majority of high performing rifles sport barrels taper lapped, never muzzle threaded, and usually 24”-26”, mostly screwed onto custom actions.
Also, the Annies that shoot well are usually based on 54’s with a sprinkling of 2000 series.
Lastly, you’re ask is quite likely almost 2X fair value, especially for a rifle without current track record.
As a for instance, a while back I sold a 54 based BR rifle I won a national championship with for 35% less and recently bought a world record holding rifle for same.
Again, all you need is one guy……but still.
Hope this gives you some color.

I just brought home the second 2500X from @Alex Wheeler. I haven’t shot it yet but I couldn’t be happier with the first one.

Give Alex a call.

This is my take. I’m a CF Bench shooter with some very fine custom rifles. I bought a 457 MTR to play with. Since I got it ,it slowly evolved to a really nice shooting gun. I probably spent more than buying a built rifle. But I did a lot of the work myself learned a lot about that gun. Now I have a beautiful rifle that can shoot with most. Not sure I would change that. I was fun to see it evolve.
Just my thoughts
