I didn't say I wanted to make it into and Anschutz. I said I was hoping to find someone who could lighten the trigger. Two very different things. It does already shoot right up there with some Anschutz rifles. I just got back from a match about an hour ago where I tied for second place with it, and took first with its identical twin last month at a 200 meter match. Today’s went to 115 meters.
I would have won this one too if I hadn’t been an idiot and gone the opposite way with my scope adjustments from what I had intended. But it’s all part of the fun.
In total defense of John's post (VLNBYR), he and myself, are RFBR shooters. We both deal in different triggers than some that post here. Sub 1oz triggers dominate our game, shot at 50 yards/meters. I am certain he did not know the game you play. A stock Anschutz would get murdered at the matches we shoot, even with a tricked out trigger. Same with a Kimber 82G being stock, even with a souped up trigger. Apples to Oranges.
Not everyone shoots the same game here.
To answer your original question, I know Brian Voelker personally. Have no idea if he will take on the job. Your expectations on what your trigger is capable of may restrict your choices. I also have had work done by John Langley, but it was just a re-barrel. I do know he does a bunch of different triggers, but not sure about Kimber. My final smith in this conversation would be Mark Penrod, which I also know personally. I am very experienced with his work, both RFBR and center fire. Mark is NOT cheap, nor is his lead time short. He does do excellent work though. I do not know if he will do trigger work on a Kimber.
You need to weigh your needs, cost, and the engineering of the Kimber trigger to make a good choice. I have and will, give work to anyone of the three smiths I have mentioned. As far as Kimber goes, you need to contact them, as I have no experience with Kimber and these smiths in relation to Kimber, nor will I in the future.
As far as the post that MAY have given an indication you could buy a Bix n Andy for your Kimber, I don't know about that. I am thinking that could be wrong, but again I have no experience with Kimber.
