Good rifle Manufacturer's?

You won't go wrong with a 6.5 Creedmoor. There are now quite a few really nice rifles out there in 6.5CM. If you can find one I have been very pleased with my Ruger American Predator. The plastic stock is not too stiff and mine needed some relief for the barrel to free float it but it sure shoots. It is very light, but recoil is still mild. The detachable magazines are not my favorite for bench shooting but my two feed perfectly. It may not look as good as some of the others but I don't think it will scare the deer and antelope I hope to hunt with it, only kill them if I do my part.
I dunno... lots of cheap brass out there for .270win these days, AND a lot of relatively new match bullets in .277; only borderline overbore, compared to a 6.5-06. Then there is the .280rem and the AI'd .280 which gives you a Real All-Around rifle.
There were some Sako TRG-22s imported in .260rem; and there is the relatively newish Tikka marksman with laminated stock in .260rem at around $1600. That is the budget shooter to buy for precision. Find a used Sako TRG-22 and have Pac-Nor do a barrel for you; or keep the .308win and be happy. Anyone shooting those match bullets for .300 Blackout in their .308? I mean, you can have it all with a .308 and those 125 & 140 match bullets.... Well, you don't get th BC high numbers, but versatility counts for a lot once you avail yourself of it.
I own a Tikka T3. Not really a butter-smooth action in my experience, but compared to other stuff made to sell for a price; likely not too bad. It just ain't a Sako L461, I, II, or III.
Think a .280rem AI would yield a lot of versatility also, and give you bullet weights from 142gr up to 180gr, w/o having to resort to full roundnosed bullets. Gonna shoot Tx hillcountry deer which might weigh 45lbs dressed-out? Then look at a .22 Hornet.

Between the qtr bore and the 6.5, I'll take the Creedmoor every day for your intended use. The bullet selection is awesome, and they are just plain old FUN. I have a Ruger Hawkeye Predator that is amazingly accurate (not the American version). That being said, my son owns a Tikka T3 in 7mm-08 that was 1/2 moa out of the box with my reloads. Either brand is a good choice. My Creedmoor shoots 130 Accubonds and 140 Bergers into cloverleafs if I haven't had too much coffee.
It's all in what you need and your budget. You have gotten suggestions for Accuracy International that start at about $4000 and cooper $2500, Nesika custom rigs $4000 and up or tikka and savage rifles 500-800. It's nice to have a Ferrari doesn't sound like that is what you need. Also you don't need a 15lb tactical rifle to lug around in the woods. I agree with the others that Tikka, Savage or great choices, Ruger isn't my favorite however I do like their handguns. I would definitely go with a 6.5 Creedmore for you purposes and you can buy great ammo off the shelf or reload easily if you ever get to that point. I would probably go tikka for a hunter weight value priced Sporter.

A failure to plan is a plan for failure.
I have two Tikka T3s. One is now in a Manners custom stock. Nice accuracy for a factory rifle. Crisp and easily adjustable trigger. Actions are very nice.
With that said, if you have the $, go custom with a M700 clone action.
I'm really liking the 7x47 Lapua. Very nice, flexible cartridge. Not for everyone, obviously.

LOL! That's telling it as it is. It's totally funny how someone can turn a disadvantage i.e. no Lapua for 6.5CM, into an advantage! I guess Washington does it all the time so why not?
