Good rifle Manufacturer's?

Originally I was going to purchase a 25-06 for its impressive ballistics but people started recommended the 6.5 caliber. Rifle will be used for predator and deer hunting

So I'm wondering who makes a decent rifle in 6.5 creedmor? I've been looking at the Savage brand. Trying to stick with a minimum 24" barrel 8 twist and would like to stay under 7.5 lbs
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Can't go wrong w the savage !
Some guys are having great luck w the ruger all Americans as well.
If your budget isn't too tight have one built on a remington action with a decent barrel & stick w the 1:8" twist. Easy to reload for & accurate.
Plenty of gun for deer (130 -140 grain bullets) as for predators (95 vmax) does the trick on PD's

Nothing at all wrong with the Tikka T3, super smooth bolt and shoot great. Have friends with 7mm-08, 243 and 22-250 that all shoot 1/2 MOA or better. The 22-250 just makes me shake my head when he shoots, gun is unreal how accurate it is. All of these are lightweights, not varmint rifles. Some will knock the setup they use for a recoil lug but it seems to work.

+1 for the Tikka rifles. They just plain shoot.

I like Savage but no one makes a smooth than Tikka. I wouldn't hesitate with either. The Savage has only one advantage and that is customizing at home for the most part. The downtrodden part is Savage's trigger system that can be improved but that is the weakness tomost. I have worked my Savage's so the triggers are quite smooth comparing it to stock configuration. Adjusting takes time on the Savage but once you learn how to adjust them they can be fairly decent. I have rifle basix and the SSS competition triggers. Both are a cut above the original. The accutriggers can be very decent but you have to pull the safety blade straight back in order to fire it without locking the trigger up on the safety blade. It is simple to overcome just pull straight back. Good luck with what you choose. I have at least a half a dozen or more savage's and they are keepers.

All depends on what you want it to do. For reasonable distance in your 7.5 lb range it doesn't sound like a long range rig. With that being said a 25-06 is a fine deer cartridge. I've used several .25's and 6.5's to hunt and shoot deer on permit and use either depending on shooting condition.

Browning X-Bolt is a great one. True short action (sorry Tikka guys) good trigger, great barrels, great mag, factory bedded, hard to go wrong.

Welcome Ar15rdy: got a real name? I've a bunch of different guns . Cheap to expensive. For hunting and casual target shooting on a budget: tikka or Savage. You should also look at a surplus Swede 6.5-55 M38. I have one that shoots along side or better than my Remmy 700s. Handy little guns. If money is not a problem: Tikka or custom. I have to mention that I don't own a Cooper, and the Browning X-bolt I bought in 223 is the worst shooter I own, except for my Mas 49/56. Good luck, Josh

I was shooting 260 back in 2001. When the 6.5 CM came along, I simply couldn't justify a second 6.5 chambering that essentially did the exact same thing.

When reloading supplies became unobtanium, I figured out that I could supply my 260 brass by necking .243 up or 7-08 down just running them through my F/L resizing die. These days all my 260 brass starts out as HDY 7-08 brass.

I don't know if you have a reliable supply of 6.5CM ammo or brass lined up. If you don't, you could do worst than by switching over to the .260. The Savage Predator Hunter Max is available chambered in .260, and mine's a great shooter.

The best would be Accuracy International. They sell a 6.5 CM barreled AT but they are as you can imagine, probably the most expensive.

6.5 - 06 or .260. Have both. 100 Amax and 123 Amax usually and if it weighs less than 300 pounds the 100 Barnes tipped triple shock works real well. 1-8 twist. The spendy 130 Berger VLD would be nice also. I have lots of 6.5 rifles and lots of brass to feed them.

With both .260 and 6.5x47; I can't figure out why I keep looking at
Creedmoors.
i keep noticing Bergara rifles, followed by Howa. Not too pricey, not too flashy, decent fit from what I can see.
If I happened to own an AR 10, I'd prob go for an upper.

Killed one nice buck with a 25-06. It makes me say blah.
I have taken three deer, a 200+ lb Axis Deer with 32" antlers and two TX pigs with my 6.5CM and I will highly recommend it. Mine 6.5CM hunting rifle is no longer produced (TC Icon Precision Hunter) but I would be happy with a Howa or Weatherby Vanguard.

I'll throw in one advantage that the 6.5 creed has that 260 rem and 6.5x47 don't... Brass availability. There are three name brands making 6.5 creed brass and only one for 6.5x47 (and it has become very hard to get) and only 1 or two for 260. Also, many more choices for loaded Ammo with the creedmoor. As for what rifle, I'd probably go savage in a 6.5 creedmoor. Good accuracy, good price, good aftermarket support.

Bought a Nesika rifle last year in 7mm rem mag and love the way it shoots! .5 or less at 100 yds. Killed two deer last fall ,one at 250 the other at 300 ! Shooting 140 Nosler BT at 3265fps. Not a cheap gun but for custom it isn't too bad.

fwiw & imho,
Yeah, being limited to Lapua Brass would be tough going...
