For those of you that have shot 10 shot strings on golf balls at 100 with your 22 long rifle, what results you were getting on average? Thanks for looking.
I was kinda wondering about those windy days when the matches are always held. I agree on a calm evening judging by groups one would think it would be a high percentage of hits.Haven't tried golf balls, but judging by the groups I have shot, a good rifle and good ammo, should be 10 for 10 unless it is a windy day.
We routinely shoot Gummy Bears at 100yds, Oreos at 200, and eggs at 300 with CZ457/MTR Manners with Lapua Midas+, Athlon 6x30x56. Outdoors usually with a little wind but that's what makes it interesting. Gummy Bears mostly don't miss at 100, Oreos 80%, Eggs 30%For those of you that have shot 10 shot strings on golf balls at 100 with your 22 long rifle, what results you were getting on average? Yep, had the same happen to me. Golf balls are tough little critters, caused a few ricochets. Stopped doing that!I used to shoot golf balls until I realized I was getting ricochoets on marginal hits. In my situation it proved to be unsafe.
Good idea! Little smaller and tougher to hit also. How about ping pong balls? They are even cheaper than golf balls.
