Go hug your kids!!

Saturday night my 18yr old son came home for a couple days from school where he also wrestles. We had some friends over playin cards. He stood up from the table, stumbled, walked up stairs falling once. We knew something was wrong and I followed him upstairs. He was laying on his bed, and I was questions him about what was wrong. Within 5 minutes he went from not feeling good, to being unresponsive. I wasn't sure if he was stroking or seizuring as he faded off. An ambulance ride of 1.5 hrs because the flight for life didn't have a chopper available. I will skip forward to today, he is doing better. He has spinal meningitis. Docs r pretty optimistic he will be ok in time. Watching him degrade I didn't know if I was watching my son die, or if he was gunna have permanent issues, I was scared to death. The good lord watched over my boy. Although he might not go back to school or the mat soon, he will come home with me. I will never take for granted one more of his smiles

Glad to hear of stable situation...

Glad to hear he is doing better.
I tell my grown boys I love them every time we talk & hug/kiss them when we see each other as well as all the rest of the families.
You never know what can happen before you know it and then WISHED you said the words.

Good to hear he is doing better. It amazes how many people take their kids for granted. Keep them close and teach them all you know.

Glad you caught it in time, an apartment complex I lived at for college students had two students die of it one winter, both thought they had colds.
THere is a vaccine for this now, and should be given during the early teenage years, especially if sending kids off to college as it seems to strike college kids the most.

I had it too and let me tell you it was not pleasant. My ex thought I was being a baby due to the symptoms and 5 years later she got it and apologized to me for her misjudging the situation. Once he recovers the only thing he should do is guard himself from sick people as much as he can because it is tough on the immune system for a while. Prayers sent and keep us updated. By the way I lost 30 pounds in 4 weeks due to vomiting and such. So give him a hug and Love him as much as you can.
