Glass bedding with JB weld

Can you glass bed with JB weld, or can you only do a glue in with it? If you can glass bed with it, does it take special technique or procedure aside from bedding with say Devcon? Thanks!

You can bed with it, it's an epoxy just like devcon. I believe many people use it for gluing actions in.

Well you can't "glass" bed with it ;)

But it works pretty good for bedding. Just kinda runny so it's hard to make it stay where you put it.

I use it exclusively for bedding. To do away with the runny-ness simply let it set up just a bit before the application.

Thanks for the replies guys, I may consider using it next time i do a bedding job. I went ahead and used a bedrock kit Ive had laying around for several years to bed my Savage 10 tactical with DBM into its McMillan stock last night. Turned out great!

J-B weld isn't all that bad. If you want more strength, go with Devcon.

As for the "runny consistency", sometimes that's not all that bad. Just use plumber's putty to keep it from "running" where you don't want it.

Great for scope bases.
