Every shooter has a rotator cuff in the shoulder where the acromion joins the scapula. Depending on the degree to which we raise the humerus when we shoulder the rifle in preparation for aiming and firing, the “pocket†that is formed at this joint takes on a variety of shapes. The shape of the “pocket†influences the natural angle of the butt of the rifle and, sometimes, forces the shooter to rotate the rifle or roll the shoulder to align the rifle. This can put stress, in the form of torque, on the stock. That's always been a pet peve of mine.
Today, I discovered a solution. I visited Recoil Less Engineering in Winters CA. and looked at their series of “adjustersâ€. http://www.recoil-less.com
I shouldered a rifle, adjusted to my shoulder in prone position, and was amazed at how much easier it was to manage the butt plate/recoil pad position without having to twist the rifle or roll my shoulder into alignment. So I thought I'd share my experience with the rest of you folks on the forum. Now that I've visited the company's home office I am acquainted with the owner but, for purposes of emphasizing my neutrality on the marketing of this product, I would like it known that I have NO personal of financial interest in this company whatsoever. Just a sense of obligation to share something worthwhile with other members of this group.
