For those who are making a practice of canting the rifle in order to obtain greater comfort when dealing with recoil, there is an answer for the problem. There is a gunsmith in Winters CA who builds a n adjustable butt plate that enables the shooter to shoulder the rifle with the correct orientation while shooting with greater creature comfort during the experience.
His name is Steve and his work is nothing short of perfection.
A long range shooter that I compete (competed … I’m too old to deal with it any longer) with uses this adjustable butt plate and if his scores are any indication this butt plate is worth the cost. These plates are also very popular with competition shotgun shooters in my area.
