German Salazar .30-06 Articles

There was a thread last year about German shutting down his site. I did a search and can't find it. The jest was quite a few people contacted him and he was not interested in reviving it and not willing to let some one else take it over. He has moved on to other things in life and does not want to be bothered any more about it. It sounded like he was starting to get pretty irritated by people asking him. It was a an incredible resource and I'm just as disappointed as everyone else. Maybe some one with better google search fu can find the link. It explains it very well and might even have a reply from him, I don't exactly recall. It was last year here some time.

Thanks, I will let it be then. German, if you happen to see this and want to reconsider, let me know! I'll do all the work.

The man apparently seeks, and is entitled to, his privacy. If he wanted to still be active, or even just make accessible his works, we would know soon enough.

I still see German quite frequently .He became very unhappy as people began to search him out at work over these articles. German Is an amazing friend and I miss him dearly at the shooting range. But that part of his life is over and done.

I have found a web archive that has cached all the articles written by Germán A. Salazar on his blog The Rifleman’s Journal. Not sure how long it will exist so worth saving each article as a .pdf file for future reference. Such a rich source of information should be preserved by every shooter. This link will take you to a page with other links on it.

There is a trick to accessing the information in each year. I will outline how to do this below as well as instructions for saving each article as a .pdf for your personal reference. Obviously, the content is Germán’s personal property so out of respect for the man you should not reproduce any of it.

  1. Once viewing an article the menu on the right of the page works to access the other months and content within that year. They do not work for other years. The link above will provide links to articles within every year except for 2012. To gain access to the 2012 archive use this link https://web.archive.org/web/2015030.../cartridges-accuracy-secrets-of-30-06_10.html

  1. To save an article as a .pdf file on your hard drive first close the timeline banner at the top of the article (otherwise it repeats itself on each pdf page and blocks out a lot of the content). Then press Ctrl+P to open your printer window. From the drop-down printer selection menu select .pdf file. You only need to do this the first time then it will default to .pdf the next time you pull up the print window. Then click save and the rest is self-explanatory.

Thanks Germán for doing our sport such a great service and may the next chapter of your life bring you much joy. I hope your shoulder is enjoying the rest.

I am really glad you found these articles, and I hope Germán doesn't mind, but this one in particular is very useful for us sling shooters: Adjusting the Tubegun Stock. It's too good not to share with any new shooters who may not have read it before.

Thanks very much for the info and tips. While I was able to access the articles from 2010 and 2012 using the 2 links you provided, I could not find a way to access 2009 and 2011 using the page called up by the first (or second) link as a starting point.

Can you provide a link to an article in each of those years? Or explain what I missed lol.

I think a lot of these old timers do not understand that they could take past material that they put in say an old news letter back in the day and an old website and basicly scan and reformat it and publish it in either print on demand or pre-paid and leverage old material for new income stream!

I am 51 so I can kind of bridge the gab between what was before and what is now and see how what was once old can be new again and generate new income!

I probably should not speak so openly though since it gives other's my IP for free! LOL

I have helped a lot of old cats from sports physiology do this a few times now. My own sons high school and divison one university programs are only just catching up to what I was doing in the late 1980's! Funny how long it takes for what was fringe and cutting edge in the 1980's to become common knowledge in 2024!

Most people in the USA are not fluent in German, Russian, and Italin and where not reading sports medicine articles and research not published in English! Stealth and the science behind it was not an American invention rather Russian science unappreciated by the Russians and only accidently discovered by one guy working in Miltary Industrial Complex by accident!

Seldom does real inavasion come from industry or from institutions of higher learning and ivory towers! When it does it is a happy accident but normaly it is a guy working alone in his basement!

What was old can be new again and it can old money can make new money!
