FYI Oblong Winchester .223 flash holes

Just a heads up. I recently purchased 500 Winchester .223 cases from Midway Lot # 1CC13. Of those 500 cases 194 cases,39%) had oblong flash holes. Some were just noticeable, others were 1 1/2 times the norm. For a competition shooter 39% is unacceptable.,I know, I know, buy Lapua, but I've always had good luck with Winchester in the past)
I called Winchester and am returning the 194 unacceptable cases to them.
If you are purchasing Winchester .223 brass you might want to inspect them thru the bag if at all possible.

I did phone Midway and gave them a heads up as to a potential problem.

So can you get a refund or exchange for the defective workmanship?

Winchester gave me a prepaid UPS pickup so they went back for their evaluation. They'll either replace them or tell me they are within their manufacturing perameters. We'll see.

I bought 100 Winchester .220 Swift brass last year that had flasholes every where except the center.
The local Winchester rep had the head office send me $120 worth of vouchers to replace that lot.
