Fun gun opinions

Been going to a range off and on with some friends for a couple years. The past year or so we have been having competitions between the 4-5 of us. Our range goes to a 200 yard Max and we just shoot for smallest groups. We've brought everything from 204 ruger's to 300WSM (during deer season.) Absolutely zero rules. I also do the same thing with my brother quite often.


I have a rem700 single shot action, that was trued a few years ago, a spare trigger, etc, and I'd like to build a no limits, fun gun for shooting 1-200 yards. Other than a 6ppc what would you choose?

Talked to a couple people on here and a 30br seems to be where I'm headed. If you had no limits what caliber, barrel length and contour would you go with? Also, what stock?

What bolt size does your action have?

Easy…6br. 2nd choice would be 6.5x47. Both will shoot to 200 easily, and beyond when you get the chance. Shoot the lighter bullets up close and the longer bullets at distance.

Two of my favorites for sure, so many variations of 6BR to choose from and the standard 6BR offers everything a guy could want.

Sure, just pull the bolt to extract a loaded round.

Been thinking about a 22br as well be cheaper to shoot than a 30br, but is it as accurate or the same?

30BR, easy to tune and keep in tune. Very accurate!
